School starts next week! Drivers reminded of pick-up, drop-off points on main campus
The first day of classes for Ballard County Schools is Thursday, Aug. 7. It’s back to school for student drivers, parents and bus drivers alike. Please click the link below for a quick reminder of traffic patterns and pick-up/drop-off points for everyone on the main campus.  
Schedule set for seventh annual Bomber Back-to-School Bash on Aug. 2
The seventh annual “Bomber Back-to-School Bash” will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. All students in the district will register for class, receive orientation information at all of Ballard’s schools, and be eligible to win a door prize. Parents asked to review immunization requirements
If you have a child entering preschool, kindergarten, sixth grade, or transferring to Ballard County Schools for the 2014-15 school year, the following health requirements must be met to comply with Kentucky’s state regulations and will be strictly enforced.  
School marks 20th anniversary
Ballard County Elementary School marked its 20th anniversary on June 4 with a luncheon for current and former employees.

Students of the Month announced for May
Ballard County Elementary School has announced its Students of the Month for May. Students are selected by their teachers as good examples of the positive attitude, behavior and effort that is expected of everyone at BCES.  
Final bike winners for 2014-15 named
Ballard County Elementary School has announced the winners of the last bikes for perfect attendance for the 2014-15 school year.

BCES principal recognized as one of UK’s ‘Teachers Who Made a Difference’
Vicki Gough, principal of Ballard County Elementary School, was honored April 26 by the University of Kentucky College of Education with one of their “Teachers Who Made a Difference” award. Gough, a UK alumnus, is shown here with the former student who nominated her, Devante Hollowell. He is a 2012 graduate of Ballard Memorial High School, one of her former students, and currently, a sophomore at UK.
