Breakfast, lunch at all schools again free under CEP program
For the third year, students at all Ballard County schools will be eligible to eat breakfast and lunch for free. Morning and midday meals for all Ballard County Schools students again will be free in 2016-17, under the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Eligibility Provision, according to Ballard Food Service Director Amber Hayes.  
Wickliffe Masonic Lodge donates two bikes for perfect attendance at BCES
Members of the Wickliffe Masonic lodge donated two bicycles to Ballard County Elementary School for a drawing for students with perfect attendance.  
FPS team takes fourth place at regional Governor's Cup
The Future Problem Solvers team at Ballard County Elementary School won fourth place at regional Governor’s Cup competition on March 12. 
April Students of the Month announced
Ballard County Elementary School has announced its Students of the Month for March. Students are selected by their teachers as good examples of the positive attitude, behavior and effort that is expected of everyone at BCES.  
McGlenon wins retired teachers' essay contest
Ballard County Elementary School fifth-grader Jace McGlenon is shown here with a certificate from AARP for his winning entry in the “AARP Kentucky Grandparent of the Year” essay contest.  
BCES students take second in district Governor's Cup
Ballard County Elementary School placed second overall in the District Governor’s Cup competition held March 6 at Heath Elementary School. The Future Problem Solving Team also won second place and the Quick Recall team was third.

Students at Ballard County Elementary School celebrated “Read Across America” last week in honor of author Dr. Seuss (Theodore Geisel) and his contribution to children’s literature. 
Fickes wins bike for perfect attendance
Ballard County Elementary School second-grader Luke Fickes is shown here with his new bicycle. Student names are drawn at the end of each quarter from all students with perfect attendance.
