Options available for family feeding this summer
There are numerous options for families trying to feed their children this summer. The newest is the P-EBT card (see attached flyer), which begins June 1. All PK-12 students at Ballard County Schools are eligible for this program.

The summer feeding program from Ballard County Schools begins this Friday, and will be held weekly on Fridays from May 29-Aug. 14, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. There are eight locations: Faith Baptist Church, 585 Barlow Road, Wickliffe; Barlow First Baptist Church,135 N. Sixth St.; Grace United Methodist Church, 3752 Paducah Road, LaCenter; LaCenter First Baptist Church, 421 Broadway; Blandville Baptist Church, 5576 Bethlehem Road; Lovelaceville Missionary Baptist Church,253 N. Broadway; the Ballard County Economic and Industrial Board building, 297 Kentucky Ave., Kevil; and Bandana Family Life Center.

Ballard’s Family Focus (ES) and Teen Focus (MS/HS) both offer weekend Snack Packs for qualifying families, and can give grocery vouchers in some instances. They also can put you in touch with local churches and others who help on an as-needed basis, as well. Please call 270-665-8400 for more information.
There are now seven Blessing Box locations in Ballard County. There are two in LaCenter – one on the U.S. 60 side of the parking lot at Grace United Methodist Church, and one on the Broadway side of the city park across from Greg’s Supermarket. New boxes are located at First Christian Church, 326 N. Fourth St., Wickliffe; Barlow United Methodist Church, 198 S. Fifth St., Barlow; Kevil First Baptist Church, 986 N. First St.; Bandana United Methodist Church, 11524 Oscar Road; and Lovelaceville Missionary Baptist Church.
Ballard County also has four food pantries: The St. Mary Community Food Pantry, 624 Broadway, LaCenter; open M-W-F from 9 a.m. to noon. Must meet federal income guidelines; Anchor of Hope Church, 754 Court St., Wickliffe, open the last Friday of each month from 8 a.m. to noon. Must be a resident of Ballard County; New Liberty United Methodist Church, 6955 New Liberty Church Road, Kevil, on the third Tuesday of each month from 5-6 p.m.; and Lovelaceville United Methodist Church, 275 Gholson Road, open every Wednesday at 4 p.m.
