District seeking candidates for finance officer
Ballard County Schools is seeking candidate for its district finance officer position. The job would begin on July 1, although the successful candidate would need to be trained for 60-90 days prior to that date.

By Kentucky regulations, school finance officers must have a bachelor’s degree, and at least one of the following: 12 hours of accounting coursework, four years of work experience in accounting or finance, and/or two years of experience in finance in a school district. The successful candidate reports directly to the superintendent.

Full-time job responsibilities include professional budgetary, statistical and accounting functions; interpretation and explanation of financial reports, statutory and regulatory requirements; and coordination of all payroll functions. Benefits include health and life insurance, vision and dental insurance, retirement benefits, and paid sick leave. Other supplemental insurances also are available, for additional costs.
