Ballard County Middle School Assistant Principal Stephen Queen will return to a familiar role this year, as he once again serves the district as athletic director.
Queen previously held the AD post in 2014-15, also his first year as BCMS assistant principal. “I’m looking forward to working with our student-athletes, coaches, and community partners to showcase our Bomber family,” Queen said. “I want our kids to shine academically, as well as on the courts and fields of play.”
He’ll said he’d already restarted the Twitter account, @BallardBombers, to be used for announcements, scores, stat lines and more.
He served in the past as BCMS health and PE teacher for two years, as well as BCMS boys’ basketball coach, freshman boys’ basketball coach, assistant BMHS boys’ basketball coach; assistant football coach in middle and high schools; varsity golf coach for three years, and assistant girls’ varsity basketball coach last year. Prior to coming to Ballard County, Queen taught and coached at Carlisle for six years.
The 2001 BMHS graduate earned his bachelor’s degree in science in 2005, his master’s in secondary education in 2013, and master’s in administration in 2016, all at Murray State University.
Queen and his wife, Kacey, live in Slater with their 8-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son. They attend Antioch Baptist Church.
