Nathan Myers to speak at Veterans Day program

Nathan Myers, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Ballard Memorial High School, will speak at Ballard’s annual Veterans Day program on Nov. 11 at 1:15 p.m. in the BMHS gym at 3561 Paducah Road, Barlow. The public is invited to attend.

Myers, a 2012 BMHS alumnus, earned his bachelor’s degree in systems engineering at the Academy in 2016, and completed Nuclear Power School in Charleston, S.C. He was selected to serve on board the USS North Dakota, a Virginia-class fast attack submarine homeported in New London, Conn. After completing his tour of duty, Myers resigned his commission as a lieutenant and is in reserve status. He currently resides in Paducah.

In addition to the speaker, Ballard’s band and choirs will perform, and all veterans in attendance will be recognized. A candlelight memorial also will be held to honor all of those from Ballard County who have died in conflict.

Parking will be available on the west (tennis court) side of the gym, and visitors may enter the door on that side.
