Purcell named DTC/network admin at Ballard County Schools

Mason Purcell has been named district technology
coordinator/network administrator at Ballard County Schools. He will assume his duties on June 5 from
exiting DTC Reta Renfrow and network admin Mike Howle, both of whom
are retiring this summer.
“I’m excited to get started, to put my knowledge
and experience to use in providing an even better experience for the district
with technology,” Purcell said.
He is a 2019 graduate of Ballard Memorial High
School, and a 2022 graduate of Murray State University with a bachelor’s degree
in cybersecurity and network management. Purcell has worked in the information
technology department at System Solutions in Paducah for the last year, and
recently was promoted to team lead there. He interned in Ballard’s IT
department as a senior at BMHS, and said he’d been thinking about the position
since then.
“We are excited to bring Mason back to Ballard
County Schools,” said Dr. Casey Allen, Ballard superintendent. “His knowledge
and experience in the technology field will be a perfect fit with our district
needs.”
Purcell lives in Kevil, where he is a volunteer
with Kevil Fire Department. He’s also a worship leader at Grace Church of
LaCenter.
