BMHS graduates 73 members of the Class of 2022

Graduation 2022

Ballard Memorial High School observed its 70th commencement exercises on May 13. The Class of 2022 ended with 73 graduates.

The valedictorians were Carson Buchanan, Wendy Burnley, Dustin Howle, and Jacob Miller. Salutatorian was Abby Boulton. There were two additional honor graduates: David Ezekiel Meinschein and Colton Sullenger.

Valedictorian Carson Buchanan is the son of Jeremy and Jessica Buchanan of Cunningham. He is a member of FFA, FBLA, and FCA, as well as the Beta and Pep clubs. Buchanan also played baseball and football. He was selected for the Citizenship Award, and plans to study astronomy at Murray State University.

Valedictorian Wendy Burnley is the daughter of Valarie and Walt Burnley of Kevil. She is a member of FFA, FBLA, and Student Council, as well as Beta Club and 4-H. She was selected for the Citizenship Award and is a Commonwealth Honors Academy alumnus. Burnley plans to study agribusiness at MSU.

Valedictorian Dustin Howle is the son of Kent and Jennifer Howle of Kevil. He is a member of FFA and FBLA, as well as Beta and Pep clubs. Howle also played baseball, golf, and tennis. He plans to study business administration at MSU.

Valedictorian Jacob Wesley Miller is the son of Kelley and John Miller of LaCenter. He is president of FBLA and Student Council, vice-president of HOSA, and a member of the Beta and French clubs. Miller played tennis, golf and basketball. He was selected as Mr. BMHS, and is an alumnus of the Governor’s Scholars Program. Miller plans to study biomedical engineering at the University of Kentucky.

Salutatorian Abby Boulton is the daughter of Wendy and Eddy Miller of LaCenter, and Jason Boulton and Andrea Ray of Gage. She is a member of FCA and HOSA, as well as the Beta and Pep clubs. She plans to study physical therapy at West Kentucky Community and Technical College.

Additional honor graduates are as follows:

David Ezekiel Meinschein is the son of David and Mary Meinschein of LaCenter. He plans to attend MSU in an engineering path.

Colton Sullenger is the son of Carla and Freddie Sullenger of Wickliffe. He plans to double-major in biochemistry and film/television arts at the University of California – Riverside.
