Ballard County Schools names Andrea Ray daycare director
Andrea Ray has been named the new director of daycare at Ballard County Schools. She will assume her new duties on April 15, to work with current director Sharon Adams at both Stop-n-Go and ASK until Adams retires at the end of the school year.
“We are excited to welcome Andrea Ray to the position of daycare director for BCS,” said Dr. Casey Allen, Ballard superintendent. “Our district is lucky to have a daycare program on site; it benefits the families in our community who have younger children and some of our employees. Andrea’s experience in both our preschool and daycare programs has prepared her to work with and for our families in this new role.”
Ray has worked in Ballard schools for three years, one in preschool and two in Stop-n-Go and ASK. She previously served as contest coordinator for the American Quilters’ Society for eight years, and seven years as membership coordinator and older girl liaison for Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Murray State University.
“I understand the vital role this program plays in supporting working families and enhancing student achievement,” Ray said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue growing within a place that already feels like home. I’m passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for our children, and I look forward to supporting our amazing families and serving this wonderful community.”
