Due to the potential for severe weather this afternoon and evening, all after-school events and activities across the district are cancelled today (April 27, 2026) to ensure the safety of our students and student-athletes.
While the largest line of storms is currently predicted between 9:00 PM-1:00 AM, the National Weather Service has indicated the possibility of severe pop-up storms developing earlier this afternoon. We want all students to be home and safe ahead of any potential weather impacts.
This cancellation includes:

• All athletic events:
  • Softball @ Calloway
  • Tennis @ McCracken
  • Baseball @ Carlisle
• All in-season and out-of-season practices (including middle school and high school basketball, and track)
• 21st Century and all after-school academic programs

21st Century Elementary School Parents:
Please arrange transportation changes for your child as soon as possible by emailing Yvette Johnson or calling the school directly. (yvette.johnson@ballard.kyschools.us) You may also call 270-665-8400. ASK will operate as ​usual.
